ORDER
Background
1. The RTI Application dated 30.9.2010 was filed by the Applicant with the PIO, Prasar Bharati,
Doordarshan, Patna. Along with his RTI Application he enclosed letters signed by one Mr. P K Jha. He
requested the PIO to compare the handwriting of signature Mr. Jha with that of Mr.Jha as given in the
index card to find out whether the signature is fake or genuine. He also requested for the copies of
Agreement register and Index card for the period 1st to 4th January 1992 besides reasons as to why the
payment with respect to an Agreement has been made after a delay of 10 years. The PIO replied on
18/25.10.2010 providing the information. Not satisfied with the reply the Applicant filed his first appeal
on 9.11.2010 requesting for the information once again. The Appellate Authority replied on 30.11.2010
informing the Applicant that the information has been furnished to the Applicant on 18.9.2010. He also
invited the Applicant to inspect the relevant file and to take copies of the documents required by him.
Not satisfied with the response the Applicant filed his second appeal before the Commission on
16.3.2011 requesting for the information .
Decision
2. The Commission received a letter dated 5.7.2011 from the Respondent stating that a suitable reply
had already been given to the Appellant in r/o his RTI Application dated 30.9.2010 vide letter dated
18.10.2010 followed by supplementary replies vide letters dated 30.11.2010 & 14.2.2011 in response to his
appeals dated 9.11.2010 & 20.12.2010 as also referred to in the instant 2nd appeal dated 16.3.2011. He further
stated that additional comments and replies to the points raised in the second appeal dated 16.3.11 have also
been furnished by the Appellate Authority.
3. Since both parties were not present for the hearing, and since there is apparently no further
communication from the Appellant after receiving the information, the Commission assumes that the
Appellant is satisfied and accordingly closes the case at the Commission’s end.
