Background
1. The Applicant filed a RTI application dt.29.9.08 with the CPIO, BSNL,
Kolkatta. He requested for information regarding the result of TTA (DR) –
2007. The CPIO replied on 25.10.08 stating that the result of TTA (DR) 2007
was declared on 3.4.08 through Calcutta Telephones Website. On 4.4.08 it
was detected that there was an unintentional and unwarranted mistake while
calculating the seats of reserved categories. The said result was immediately
withdrawn on 4.4.08 from the website. After thorough scrutiny, the rectified
result was again published on 16.4.08 through website. The applicant filed an
appeal dt.3.11.08 with the Appellate Authority. The applicant filed a second
appeal dt.nil before CIC.
2. The Bench of Mrs. Annapurna Dixit, Information Commissioner, scheduled the
hearing on March 2, 2009.
3. Mr. U.C. Mittal, Advocate, on behalf of CPIO BSNL represented the Public
Authority.
4. The Applicant came late for the hearing only after the Respondent’s
representative left.
Decision
5. As requested by the Appellant, the Commission directs the CPIO to provide
the list of successful candidates that was put up on 3.4.08 and the corrected
list on 16.4.08 on the websites. The Appellant may also be provided with the
cut off marks for selection of candidates. The information to be provided
within 15 days of the receipt of this Order. Information against other points
has been provided.
6. The appeal is disposed off.
