FACTS
:
The matter, in short, is that by his letter of 1.10.2008, the appellant
had requested for the following information :-
(i) Annual Audit Sheet of total workers of M/s Kulkarni Foundary Ltd,
MH/3277, Pune; &
(ii) Each workers’ account balance, including shares with interest each
year from 1975 to 2008.
2. It appears that the requested information was not provided to the
complainant. Hence, the present complaint.
3. Heard on 24.8.2009. Complainant not present. The public authority
is represented by the officer named above. Shri Bhagat Singh, EPFO
(Finance) seeks a short adjournment We are not inclined to adjourn the
matter for the simple reason that the information requested for by the
complainant is straight and simple and that the complainant appears to be
working in the interest of workmen. It also appears to us that the
information requested for by the complainant can not be denied under the
provision of the RTI Act.
DECISION
4. In this view of the matter, we direct the CPIO to provide
information sought by the complainant on the above mentioned paras in 04
weeks time. Thereafter the CPIO will submit compliance report to the
Commission.
