Background
1. The Appellant filed an RTI request dt.18.7.08. He requested for information
regarding working of all Post Offices of India as a collection point for
application submitted under RTI Act, in respect of all Government Offices. The
CPIO replied on 16.8.08 providing some information and informing the
Appellant that all the information regarding circulars, notifications etc. is
available on the website of the Department of Posts. . The Appellant filed an
appeal dt.1.9.08 with the Appellate Authority reiterating his request for the
information. On not receiving any reply, the Appellant filed a second appeal
dt.10.10.08 before CIC.
2. The Bench of Mrs. Annapurna Dixit, Information Commissioner, scheduled the
hearing on February 2, 2009.
3. Mr.H.N.Mani Tripathi, C.I represented the Public Authority.
4. The Appellant was not present during the hearing.
Decision
5. The Commission noted that all the available information has been provided to
the Appellant vide letter dt.27.1.09 and was sent to the Appellant on 28.1.09
and that the Appellant has also been requested to visit the departmental
website for obtaining necessary information regarding Govt. of India Gazette
Notification and other circulars and orders issued by Dept. of Post, Lucknow.
6. Since all the available information has been provided, the appeal is disposed
off.
