Facts
arising from the Complaint:
Mr. Ajit Singh Meena had filed a RTI application with the PIO, Nuclear Power
Corporation of India, Mumbai on 09/12/2010 asking for certain information. However on not
having received any information within the mandated time, the Complainant filed a complaint
under Section 18 of the RTI Act with the Commission. On this basis, the Commission issued a
notice to the PIO, Nuclear Power Corporation of India, Mumbai on 09/08/2011 with a direction
to provide the information to the Complainant and further sought an explanation for not
furnishing the information within the mandated time.
The Commission received a letter dated 29/08/2011 from the Respondent wherein it has
been stated that information has been provided to the Complainant vide letter dated 01/03/2011,
copy of which was enclosed.
Decision:
The Complaint is disposed off.
The Commission warns the PIO to ensure that information is provided to applicants
within the mandated time specified under Section 7(1) of the RTI Act.
Notice of this decision be given free of cost to the parties.
