Background

1. The Applicant filed an RTI application dt.8.5.07 with the CPIO, NCR,
Allahabad. He requested for information regarding his pay fixation. He
stated that he was posted as a Guard C from a Switchman and that during
the time of posting his pay fixation ought to have been done after providing
the increment, but this did not happen in his case. The CPIO replied on
9.5.07 providing clarification on the issue and informing him that as soon as
the approval is given by the Railway Board payment would be made to him.
Not satisfied with the reply, the Appellant filed an appeal dt.14.6.07 with the
Appellate Authority. The Appellate Authority replied on 26.6.07 repeating
what was intimated to him by the CPIO. Aggrieved with the reply, the
Applicant filed a second appeal dt.nil before the CIC.

2. The Bench of Mrs. Annapurna Dixit, Information Commissioner, scheduled the
hearing for May 27, 2009.

3. Mr. Sandip Trivedi, Sr. DPO cum CPIO, Mr. R.K. Mangla, ADRM cum Appellate
Authority and Mr. R.P. Pal, CIA represented the Public Authority.

4. The Applicant was not present during the hearing.
Decision

5. The Respondent stated that the Appellant’s case along with 60 others, on the
subject of pay fixation after the increment is given, is at present being
processed by the Railway Board and that within a short period the Appellant
would be informed about the outcome. Since the grievance of the Appellant
is being redressed, the appeal is accordingly disposed off.
