Background
1. The Applicant filed his RTI application dt.30.4.08 with the CPIO, DoP,
Coimbatore requesting for information regarding duration of split duty. The
CPIO replied on 16.5.08 stating that as per rules, the duration of split duty
should be only for 7 hours and not for 8 hours as shown in the last para of
Mr. R.S. Puram’s letter dated 30.4.08. He added that as per the records, the
duty hours of APM (Delivery) is 0700 to 1030 hrs and from 1430 to 1800 hrs.
Not satisfied with the reply, the Applicant filed an appeal dt.17.6.08 with the
Appellate Authority. The Appellate Authority replied on 17.7.08 stating that
he had gone through the appeal and directed the CPIO to furnish the said
record sought by the Appellant to him and accordingly disposed of the appeal.
The Applicant filed a second appeal dt.13.3.09 before CIC requesting for the
records sought by him.
2. The Bench of Mrs. Annapurna Dixit, Information Commissioner, scheduled the
hearing for August 4, 2009.
3. The Respondent was heard through audio conferencing.
4. The Applicant was not present during the hearing.
Decision
5. The Respondent was heard through audio conferencing and he submitted that
all available information along with the clarification has been provided once
again to the Appellant on 24.7.08. In the light of his submission, the
Commission disposes of the appeal.
