We have heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned standing counsel
appearing for the respondents.

Prima facie we are of the opinion that the Sub Registrar cannot refuse to
register a sale deed unless there is any deficiency of stamp duty or any other
legal impediment with regard to registration of the document.

This petition is finally disposed of with a direction to Sub Registrar II,
Bareilly to register the sale deed of the petitioner in accordance with law.
