	This writ petition came to be numbered by way of transfer of O.A.No.1828 of 1996 from the file of Tamil Nadu Administrative Tribunal seeking for the issuance of a writ of mandamus, to direct the respondents to select and appoint the applicant as Panchayat Assistant under G.O.Ms.No.2333 Revenue Department, dated 29.11.1990 as Panchayat Assistant in any one of the Panchayat under the control of the first respondent based on the applicant representation, dated 7.6.1995.

					O R D E R	

Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner as well as the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

2. It is submitted by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner that it would suffice if the representation, dated 7.6.1995, submitted by the petitioner to the first respondent, is directed to be disposed of on merits, within a specified period.

3. Mr.A.Arumugam, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents has no objection for passing such an order.

4. On such submission being made, the District Collector, Dr.Ambedkar District (Vellore District) is directed to consider and dispose of the representation of the petitioner, dated 7.6.1995, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The petitioner is directed to furnish a copy of the representation, dated 7.6.1995, to the District Collector, Dr. Ambedkar District (Vellore District), along with a copy of this order.

5. With the above directions, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
