ORDER
Shri Jawahar Singh, the appellant has filed this appeal dated 24.12.2010 before
the Commission against Delhi Police, East District for not providing information to his RTI-
request dated 9.10.2010, which came up for hearing on 06.04.2011. The appellant was
present in person, whereas the respondents were represented by Shri Asif Mohd. Ali,
PIO/E and Shri Anand Kumar, Incharge RTI Cell.
2. The appellant filed RTI-request dated 9.10.2010 seeking information on six RTI-
queries pertaining to action taken report on representation dated 7.6.2010 addressed to Lt.
Governor and Police Authorities by Smt. Rani Sharma. The PIO vide letter No.
1978/11076/RTI Cell/East District dated 18.11.2010 has replied to the appellant stating
that investigation is in progress and the same cannot be provided u/s 2(1) (h) of the RTI
Act.
3. Aggrieved by decision of PIO, the appellant preferred first appeal on 26.11.2010
before FAA. The FAA vide order No. 10/20439/A-RTI/East Dist dated 9.12.2010 has
decided appellant’s first-appeal with the observation that now the enquiry has been
completed and filed on the basis of written statement of the complainant. The appellant
was advised to obtain copies of the statement and other documents from Information Cell
on any working day, as per procedure of the RTI Act.

4. After hearing the parties and on perusal of the relevant documents on file, the
Commission observed that requisite information, under the provisions of the RTI Act, has
been provided to the appellant within stipulated period. For redressal of his grievance, the
appellant is advised to file his representation before the competent authority of Police.
The matter is disposed of accordingly.
