Background
1. The Applicant filed an RTI request dt.4.6.07 with the CPIO, DoP, Bhiwani.
He requested for the following information:
i) Copy of the complaint filed by Ms.Ritu Dalal
ii) Copy of the comments on the complaint by Inspector of Posts and
Supdt. of Post Offices.
iii) Copy of the extract from the error book dt.14.11.06 written by Ms.Ritu
Dalal that the applicant had left the Post office before closing time.
iv) Copy of the extract from the error book dt.15.11.06 containing the
submission made by Mr.Satyavir Morval and Mr.Wazir regarding the quarrel
On not receiving a reply, he filed a complaint dt.7.1.09 before CIC.
2. The Bench of Mrs. Annapurna Dixit, Information Commissioner, scheduled the
hearing for March 27, 2009.
3. Mr.J.P.Saini, Supdt. of Post Offices & CPIO represented the Public Authority.
4. The Applicant Mr.Satyavir Kalkal during the hearing.
Decision
5. After listening to the submissions put forth by both the parties, the
Commission directs the CPIO to provide all available information to the
Complainant within 15 days of receipt of this Order.
6. The Commission directs the CPIO to show cause as to why a penalty of
Rs.250/- per day (Maximum Rs.25,000/-) should not be levied on him for not
providing the reply within the mandatory period stipulated in the RTI Act.
The response to reach the Commission within 15 days of receipt of this
Order.
