Facts
arising from the Complaint:
The Complainant filed a RTI application with the CPIO on 07/10/2009 asking for certain
information. However on not having received the information within the mandated time,
the Complainant filed a Complaint under Section 18 of the RTI Act with the
Commission. On this basis, the Commission issued a notice to the CPIO on 03/07/2010
with a direction to provide the information to the Complainant before 28/07/2010 and
further sought an explanation for not furnishing the information within the mandated
time.
The Commission received a letter dated 26/07/2010 from the CPIO stating that
information on queries 1 and 2 was provided to the Complainant vide letter dated
19/11/2009. Further, the information sought on queries 3 to 8 was transferred to the
CPIO, Vigilance Department and information in relation to the same was provided to the
Complainant vide letter dated 18/12/2009.
Decision:
The Complaint is disposed. The Commission warns the CPIO/RPFC (HRM) to ensure
that information is provided to applicants within the mandated time as per the provisions
of the RTI Act.
Notice of this decision be given free of cost to the parties.
