Background
1. The Applicant filed an RTI request dt.4.8.08 with the CPIO, Dept. of Post, New
Delhi. He requested information against 7 points about service matters. The
CPIO, Dept. of Post, New Delhi transferred the case to Dept. of Post,
Muzzaffarpur on 28.8.08. The applicant filed a complaint dt.21.11.08 before
CIC.
2. The Bench of Mrs. Annapurna Dixit, Information Commissioner, scheduled the
hearing for February 19, 2009.
3. Mr.Pankaj K.Mishra, Sr.Supdt. of Post Offices, Muzzaffarpur represented the
Public Authority.
4. The Applicant was not present during the hearing.
Decision
5. The Commission observed that the information sought in the RTI request
does not fall under the definition of information given in the RTI Act, since the
applicant is only seeking the opinions of the CPIO/Appellate Authority against
each point.
6. The appeal is rejected.
