Background
1. The Applicant filed his RTI request on 03.09.09 with the PIO, Southern
Railway HQ, Chennai seeking information relating to construction of new
bridge across river Palar near Ranipet in connection with the proposed new
line between Tindivanam and Nagari against 4 points. The PIO replied on
24.09.09 (not in file). Being aggrieved with the reply the Applicant filed his
First Appeal on 16.10.09 seeking information once again. The Appellate
Authority replied on 30.10.09 enclosing an attested xerox copy of the
constituents of the joint venture firm. Still not satisfied with the reply, the
Applicant filed a Second Appeal before the Commission seeking information
once again.
2. The Bench of Mrs. Annapurna Dixit, Information Commissioner scheduled the
hearing for 31st March, 2010 through video conferencing.
3. Mr. A K Khendelwal, CPIO, Construction and Mr. Gopi were present at NIC
studio, Chennai.
4. The Appellant was present at the NIC studio, Chennai.
Decision
5. The Appellant stated that while the PIO had provided information against
points 1, 2 & 4 on 24.09.09, information against point 3 was supplied rather
late, just before the hearing. He however, expressed his satisfaction with the
information furnished to him and requested the Commission to close the
case. Accordingly the case is closed at the Commission’s end.
