Facts
By his letter of 19.12.2006, the appellant had requested for the
following information :-
“(A) In Safdarjang Residential Scheme (S.D.A. & SJE), New Delhi, how
much DDA has charged/charging from the owners of Houses on account of
misuse charges with the following details :-
i. Plot Number with Block Number
ii. Plot Area in Square Meters
iii. Permissible covered area in Square Meters
iv. Area under misuse in Square Meters
v. Amount charged from the Plot/House owners in the year 2006.
(B) Number of Plots with numbers where DDA has reentered and taken
possession in Safdarjang Residential Scheme.”
2. The CPIO vide his letter dated 5.1.2007 had informed the appellant that
DDA was not maintaining a consolidated record, in regard to information
requested for by him.
3. The appeal filed by the Appellant was dismissed by Appellate
Authority vide order dated 1.2.2007.
4. Hence the present appeal.
5. The matter was heard on 22.12.20008. The appellant did not appear
before the Commission. DDA is represented by officer mentioned above.
Shri Sareen would submit that there are 1986 plots in Safdurjang residential
scheme and the information sought by the appellant is not being maintained in
a consolidated form. However, if the appellant seeks information about a
specific plot, the same can be furnished to him.
DECISION
6. The stand taken by the public authority is reasonable and practical.
Hence, the appellant is advised to approach the CPIO for information about
any specific plot, if he so desires, and the CPIO would furnish him the
requisite information in 3 weeks time.
7. The matter is disposed of accordingly.
