Background
1. The Appellant filed an RTI request dt.12.7.08 with the CPIO, M/o
Culture. The Appellant requested for the following information:
i) The date on which Dr.Mr.Kishalay Das had joined the
Anthropological Survey of India as a Post Doctoral Fellow for the first
time.
ii) The date on which Dr.Mr.Kishalay Das has received his
Doctorate Degree?
iii) (a) Who was the Visiting Fellow of the Anthropological Survey at
Kolkatta before Dr.Veena Tripathi, (b) What special project has he
handled? (c) Is there any publication made by him for his work in this
Survey (d) How long did he stay in this Survey? (e) What are the
reasons behind him leaving the Survey.
The CPIO, Ministry of Culture vide letter dt.25.7.08 transferred the two
RTI applications of the Appellant to the CPIO, Anthropological Survey
of India. On not receiving any reply, the Appellant filed an appeal
dt.25.8.08 before the CIC.
2. The Bench of Mrs. Annapurna Dixit, Information Commissioner,
scheduled the hearing on January 7, 2009.
3. Mr. D.N. Pandey, Sr. Ecologist and CPIO represented the Public
Authority.
4. The Appellant was not present during the hearing.
Decision
The Respondent submitted that he had provided all the information on 3
Septemebr, 2008. The Commission directs the CPIO to provide the
information against point (ii) given above, within 10 days of receipt of this
Order.
