Dated this the 18th day of March, 2009.
JUDGMENT
The petitioner is the Parents Teachers Association of R.I.L.P.
School, Edathirinji, Thrissur district. Their grievance is that the Manager
is not effecting periodical maintenance to the school buildings. They
have also a complaint that the third respondent is not discharging her
duties as Manager. Setting out these and other complaints they have
filed Ext.P2 representation before the Assistant Educational Officer,
Irinjalakuda. In this Writ Petition, the petitioner seeks a direction to the
Assistant Educational Officer, Irinjalakuda to consider Ext.P2
representation and pass orders thereon within a time limit to be fixed by
this Court.
2. Sri. A.J. Varghese, the learned Government Pleader appearing for
respondents 1 and 2 submits that the Assistant Educational Officer has
already issued instructions to the third respondent to effect timely
repairs to the school buildings. In my opinion, the direction issued by
the Assistant Educational Officer should dispel any apprehension that
the Manager will not effect timely repairs to the school buildings. As the
parents of students studying in the third respondent’s school have
expressed an apprehension about the safety and welfare of the students,
I dispose of this Writ Petition with a direction to the Assistant
WP(C) No.6751/09 -: 2 :-
Educational Officer, Irinjalakuda to inspect the school with notice to the
Manager, the President of the Parents Teachers Association and the
Headmaster and take steps to ensure that the directions issued by him
are implemented.
The Writ Petition is disposed of as above.
P.N.Ravindran,
Judge.
