Original Application No.9374 of 1998 was filed before the Tamil Nadu Administrative Tribunal, Madras Bench praying to set aside the declaration of the results published by the 2nd respondent in the preliminary examination and to direct the respondents to hold fresh examination held on 07.06.1998 giving equal opportunity to all the candidates who applied in different optional subject and conclude the selection (or) in the alternative to consider the claim of the petitioner for main Written Examination of Group I Service and based on the same to consider the petitioner for appointment to any one of the posts in Group I Services. Since the Tamil Nadu Administrative Tribunal was abolished, the O.A. was received by transfer and numbered as Writ Petition.

2. The applicant/petitioner was 33 years old at the time of filing the O.A., in the year 1998. The relief sought as above for cannot be granted after a lapse of more than a decade and two years as the issue has become stale and the adjudication will not serve any purpose at this point of time. Accordingly, the Writ Petition is dismissed. No costs.
