Background
1. The Applicant filed an RTI application dt.6.10.2008 with the CPIO, BSNL,
Meerut. He requested for information against 7 points including the name of
General Manager (Finance) and his date of joining office, copy of the
application by the GM for an official residence, and basis on which the GM is
claiming HRA. The CPIO replied on 29.10.08 furnishing point wise
information. Not satisfied with the reply, the applicant filed his first appeal on
15.11.2008 with the Appellate Authority. The Appellate Authority replied on
21.11.08 upholding the decision of the CPIO. The applicant filed a second
appeal dt.4.12.08 before CIC.
2. The Bench of Mrs. Annapurna Dixit, Information Commissioner, scheduled the
hearing for March 3, 2009.
3. Mr. Shamim Akhtar GM(D&A) & CPIO was present but the Appellate Authority
was absent at the hearing.
4. The Applicant was not present during the hearing.
General
5. The Commission reviewed the information provided and noted that all
information except against Point 7 has been given to the Appellant. A copy of
the information provided was shared with the Commission by the Respondent.
The CPIO is directed to provide information against Point 7 within 15 days of
the receipt of this Order.
4. The appeal is disposed off.
