ORDER
The Commission has received a petition from Shri R K Sharma, stating that his RTI-
application of 16/09/2009 filed with the CPIO, National Insurance Co Ltd, CHRO-II, Chandigarh,
has not been responded to within the time limit prescribed under the RTI-Act 2005. A copy of his
RTI-application is enclosed.
2. The Commission has decided to treat this petition as a complaint under Section 18 of the
RTI-Act, 2005, and hereby directs the Public Information Officer, to take action as mandated under
the RTI Act 2005.
3. Since the PIO has failed to respond to the RTI-application mentioned above in time, he/she
is, therefore, required to send his/her explanation in writing by 08/11/2010 to show cause as to why
a penalty of Rs.25,000/-for delay in supply of information may not be levied upon him/her.
He/she should also appear before this Commission at VC studio, Department of Information
Technology, 5th Floor, Additional Delux Building, Sector 9, Chandigarh-160017 (Contact
Officer – Ms. Anuradha Kaushal & Mr. Jagjit Singh & Contact Nos.- 0172-2740641 /
2740005) on 11/11/2010 at 11:45 am along with all the relevant files/documents.
4. For this hearing, he/she may bring along with him/her other officials whose assistance has
been sought for replying to the RTI-application.
5. In case the complainant receives the desired information he may also inform to the
Commission through Fax (Fax no. is given above). If the complainant does not receive the desired
information, in response to the present order of the Commission, he may also be present during the
hearing at NIC District Centre DC Office, Panipat – 132103 (Contact Officer – Mr. Bhuvnesh
Mishra, Scientist-C & Contact Nos.: 0180-2653308) on 11/11/2010 at 11:45 am.
