KANWALJIT SINGH AHLUWALIA, J. (ORAL)

The present writ petition was filed by the petitioner on 5.5.1994

with a prayer that the respondent-Punjab State Electricity Board, Patiala

should grant electric connection for running the tubewell under the

Accelerated Release of Power Connections Scheme (for short, `ARPC

Scheme’). This writ petition was admitted on 17.7.1995. Thereafter, the

petitioner had filed C.M.No.15658 of 1995 praying that he is ready to get

the tubewell connection under the Self Finance Scheme. On 26.2.1996, this

Court had passed the following order:-

“…….However, during the course of hearing it is not

disputed that the respondents had directed the petitioner to
CWP No.5786 of 1994 [2]

deposit a sum of Rs.22,300/-, to get the tubewell connection

under the “Self Finance Scheme”. The petitioner perhaps did

not get that letter or did not deposit the amount within the time

allowed. Petitioner now prays that he is ready and willing to

deposit the amount subject to the decision of the writ petition.

In view of the above, it is ordered that in case the

petitioner deposits a sum of Rs.22,300/- with the respondent

within one month from today, the electric connection for

tubewell shall be released in favour of the petitioner subject to

the decision of the writ petition, at a very early date preferably

within two months of the deposit of the requisite amount. Civil

misc. stands disposed of.”

Since the petitioner agreed to get the tubewell connection under the Self

Finance Scheme, there is no doubt that by now the petitioner may have been

granted tubewell connection. Therefore, apparently no grievance of the

petitioner subsists. Hence, the present writ petition is disposed of with

liberty to the petitioner to seek revival of the writ petition, if any of his

grievance remain to be redressed.
