Heard learned counsel for the parties.

The matter in regard to revision of the pay scale of Research Assistants w.e.f.
01.01.1996 is pending with the State Government and on that score the
petitioner’s representation could not be decided in positive terms. The
Government has not taken any decision up till now in regard to revision of the
pay scale of Research Assistants. The petitioner cannot be made to wait for
unscheduled time and the decision has to be taken by the Government if the
mandate of this Court has been deferred on that pretext.

In these circumstances, the State Government may, as decided by it, take a
decision in this regard by the next date.
