The petitioner, who is now working as Tahsildar in

Revenue Department, by this writ petition, seeks the

following reliefs:

(i) to issue a writ of mandamus or order or
direction to the first respondent to promote
the petitioner as Deputy Collector in the next
arising vacancy.

(ii) to issue a writ of mandamus or order or
direction to the first respondent to consider
and pass appropriate orders on Ext.P4 as
expeditiously as possible and at any rate
within a time limit that may be fixed by this
Hon’ble Court.

(iii) to issue a writ of mandamus or order or
direction to the first respondent not to
promote any other Tahsildars as Deputy
Collectors in preference to the petitioner since
the petitioner is the senior most eligible and
suitable person possessing the requisite
qualification.

2. Having heard the learned counsel for the

petitioner and the Government Pleader, I find that Ext.P4

representation preferred by the petitioner is still not

disposed and disposal of Ext.P4 would redress the grievance

of the petitioner. In the above circumstance, writ petition is

disposed of with direction to the first respondent to dispose

of Ext.P4 within six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy

of this judgment. Any order of promotion during the

intermittent period shall be subject to the result of the

decision in Ext.P4. No costs.

(Judge)
