Title: Statement correcting answer given to Starred Question No. 328 dated 14.8.2001 by Late Shri Madhavrao Scindia and Shri Kirit Somaiya regarding the cases of violation of Human Rights in Maharashtra.
THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HOME AFFAIRS (SHRI CH. VIDYASAGAR RAO): In the Annexure enclosed as part of answer to Part (a) to (c) of Lok Sabha Starred Question No.328, answered on 14.8.2001, the number of cases of violation of human rights for the year 2000-2001 in the State of Maharashtra was stated as 1,72,409.
In place of the above answer for the figure “1,72,409”, the figure of “2532” may be substituted. The error occurred due to oversight and was typographical.
The delay in the correcting statement is due to revised figure having been received from the National Human Rights Commission after the Monsoon Session was over.
The error is regretted.
