Title: The Minister of State of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation laid a statement regarding the status of implementation of recommendations in 15th report of Standing Committee on Urban Development on Demands for Grants (2006-07) pertaining to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation.
THE MINISTER OF STATE OF THE MINISTRY OF HOUSING AND URBAN POVERTY ALLEVIATION (KUMARI SELJA): Sir, with your permission, I beg to lay on the Table of the House a statement regarding the status of implementation of recommendations contained in the 15th Report (14th Lok Sabha) of the Standing Committee on Urban Development on Demands for Grants (2006-2007) pertaining to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation.
This statement is in pursuance of Direction 73A of the hon. Speaker, Lok Sabha, which reads as under :
“The Minister concerned shall make once in six months a statement in the House regarding the status of implementation of recommendations contained in the Reports of Departmentally Related Standing Committees of Lok Sabha with regard to his Ministry.”
I would like to inform for the benefit of the hon. Members of the House that the 15th Report of the Standing Committee of the 14th Lok Sabha on Demands for Grants of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation was presented in Lok Sabha on 22.5.2006.
Mr. Speaker, Sir, all the 18 recommendations of the Committee have been accepted by the Government. Status of action taken on recommendations of the Standing Committee accepted by the Government has been indicated against each recommendations in the enclosed Statement. I would like to inform the hon. Members that further follow-up action, wherever necessary, will be taken by the Ministry.
