Title: Need to retain the Vehicles Department of Ministry of Defence at Panagarh base area in West Bengal.
SHRI SUNIL KHAN (DURGAPUR): Sir, the Panagarh base area in West Bengal is not getting due attention of the Government. A major part of the vehicles department is either shifted or being shifted to other States. The man power has already been reduced specially those who were in clerical jobs and fourth grade staff. The base has also an Air-strip. The aeronautical garage is there. The facilities being provided to the workers are not adequate.
Would urge upon the Defence Minister not to shift the vehicles department from Panagarh base area to other States and the potentiality of Air-strip should be revived and other departmental workers reinstated.
