A Delhi court Thursday allowed former Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh to visit Singapore for treatment of his kidney infection from Nov 8-30.

While permitting the Rajya Sabha MP to travel to Singapore, the special court of Sangita Dhingra Sehgal directed that he deposits Rs.500,000 or gives a similar amount as a bank guarantee.

The court released his passport to enable him to travel.

Amar Singh, arrested Sep 6 for alleged involvement in an attempt to bribe MPs ahead of the July 2008 parliament trust vote, in what came to be known as the cash-for-votes case, had been granted bail by the Delhi High Court Oct 24 on humanitarian grounds.

He had been admitted to AIIMS Sep 12 due to an infection in his kidneys that were transplanted in 2009. He was discharged Sunday.
