NEW DELHI: In the latest development on the Muzaffarpur shelter home rapes case, where at least 34 young girls were sexually abused,  the Supreme Court on Thursday said that it will not be appropriate to keep Brajesh Thakur (the main accused in the incident) in Bihar jail as he is a very influential person.

Brajesh Thakur, is a very influential person and obstructing the ongoing probe…he should be shifted to a jail outside Bihar,” said the top court. After the perusal of CBI’s status report on the Muzaffarpur shelter home rape case investigation, the SC said that the details of how the crime was perpetrated were ‘shocking, scary and horrible,’

A show cause notice has also been issued to Thakur demanding his response on why he should not be shifted out of Bihar, for free and fair probe into the case.
