Hyderabad/Bangalore, Sep 6 (UNI) The Nampally CBI special Court sent former Karnataka Minister Gali Janardhan Reddy and Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC) Managing Director B V Srinivas Reddy whom CBI arrested in Bellary yesterday morning, to Judicial remand till September 19 in the Illegal Mining case even as the court will decide on the memo filed by the investigating agency on giving the duo to its 15-day custody.

The CBI team headed by Joint Director P V Lakshminarayana and DSP R M Khan shifted them to Chenculguda Jail as per the Judge’s order this evening.

Though the lawyers representing Mr Janardhan A Reddy opposed the CBI prayer of allowing them into their custody, the court will take a final decision after giveing time to the Reddy’s advocates to file the counter.

A team of Mr Reddy’s advocates also filed bail applications in the court stating that his client would cooperate with the investigating team, if they were given bail.

However, the Judge did not pass any RD and remanded them to judicial custody.

The advocates also said the investigating agency did not adhere to guidelines before making the arrests and it clearly shows a ‘political vendatta’.
