Police Wednesday told a Delhi court that a complaint against Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit over alleged lapses related to the conduct of the 2010 Commonwealth Games here is being probed by the CBI.

An officer of the economic offences wing of police appeared before Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Manish Yaduvanshi and said that the probe on a complaint against Dikshit was referred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

After hearing the police submission, the court decided to next hear the case Oct 30 and asked them to file a status report on the investigation.

Police said they would coordinate with the CBI for getting details about the status of the investigation.

The court last month held as “maintainable” an application moved by right to information activist Vivek Garg.

Garg, in his application, said that a case be filed against Dikshit, her cabinet colleague Raj Kumar Chauhan and former Commonwealth Games Organising Committee chief Suresh Kalmadi for alleged corruption in holding the event.

He made allegations against Dikshit on the basis of a report by a panel headed by former comptroller and auditor general V.K. Shunglu on lapses related to the event.
