Charges framed against former MLA in fodder scam case

The Special CBI court today framed charges against two accused including, former MLA Dhruv Bhagat, in connection with the multi-crore rupees fodder scam case. The accused, Mr Bhagat, however denied the charges framed against him in the CBI court of the designated judge V.K. Srivastav. Charges were also framed against a former officer of Banka Treasury.

April 2, has been fixed as the next date for hearing of the case. Earlier on March 29, 2012, the designated judge taking Dhruv Bhagat on remand and had sent him to jail in connection with the fodder scam. The court on March 1, 2012, had framed charges against 31 accused including former Bihar chief ministers Lalau Prasad and Jagannath Mishra in connection with the case. The case is related to the fraudulent withdrawal of lakhs of rupees from Bhagalpur and Banka treasuries on the basis of fake bills of Animal Husbandry department.
