A local court has found a man guilty in a domestic violence case and asked him to pay Rs 75,000 as compensation to his wife within a month.
Judicial Magistrate Mitali Govind Rao yesterday ordered Shehzad to provide Rs 75,000 to his wife Reshma in connection with a domestic violence case filed by the woman here.
According to the complainant’s lawyer Amir Ahmad, Reshma filed a petition in 2013 against her husband over charges of domestic violence.
Reshma had married the accuse
d in December 2009 but she has been living with her parents since October 2010 following torture by her husband over dowry.
