Court asks Pb min’s son to vacate ex-armyman’s property

A court here today asked Rana Inder Partap Singh, son of Punjab Minister Rana Gurjit Singh, to vacate a house taken on rent from a retired army officer.

The court of Additional Civil Judge Aashish Abrol sent a bailiff today to Inder Partap and asked him to vacate the house located in the Defence Colony area, which he had taken on rent from Brig. Ranjit Singh Ghuman.

Gurjit Singh’s political secretary Amandeep Singh Gill said that the property will be vacated by Monday (July 10).

In 2014, the lease agreement for the property had expired following which Rana Inder Pratap Singh refused to vacate it.

Ghuman, who accompanied the bailiff, said the court had earlier too asked Inder Partap to vacate the property. But when he refused to do so, Ghuman had to approach the court once again.

Gill said that after the expiry of the lease agreement, they had asked for time to vacate the property as their another property in Kapurthala was under construction.

However, Ghuman refused the request and approached the court, he added.
