A fast track court has awarded life imprisonment to a man for killing his pregnant wife for dowry in Madhorampur village in Chauri area here.
Fast Track Court Judge Chandroday Kumar awarded life imprisonment to Sheetla Prasad yesterday and also imposed a fine of Rs 1.15 lakh on him after he was convicted of murdering his wife Munni Devi on September 20, 2014.
An FIR was lodged in this connection by the victim’s brother Surendra Kumar alleging that his sister was killed for dowry.
