Union Law Minister M. Veerappa Moily Thursday said that government will open four new schools for law which will be centres of excellence with all international standards.

Mr Moily said that the project is in its planning stage.

The government would also introduce the Judges (Inquiry) Bill, 2009, in the winter session of parliament.

Moily said the bill will be placed before the union cabinet soon. The bill is expected to have a clause bringing judges’ assets under the purview of the Right to Information Act, 2005.

Moily said the decision to allow foreign legal firms into the country will be taken only after holding discussion with the Bar Council, the eminent jurists and the legal fraternity.

On the controversy over the appointment of Karnataka High Court Chief Justice Dinakaran to the Supreme Court, Moily said the matter is not for “public debate”.

“The Supreme Court collegium will take a decision and will recommend it to the government,”
