Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa’s former aide V K Sasikala today claimed in a special court here that the Chief Minister was not involved in the Rs 66-crore disproportionate assets case.

Ms Sasikala broke down during the recording of her statement by the special court judge B M Mallikarjunaiah and said Ms Jayalalithaa was not involved in the case and she had done all the financial deals relating to it.

The case dates back to 1991-96 period when Ms Jayalalithaa was the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for the first time. Ms Sasikala had been her close aide till recently, before she was expelled from AIADMK and the Chief Minister had cut off all relations with her.

The case was transferred to Bangalore after a DMK functionary had sought the transfer once Ms Jayalalithaa had come back to power over ten years ago.
