Mahila Haat in Delhi from Nov 3

At the national capital’s first ‘Mahila Haat’ which is going to start from Nov 3, Women artisans and entrepreneurs will get to showcase and sell handicrafts, fabrics, artifacts, kitchen products and other wares .

The vendors will be predominantly women in this a first-of-its-kind market. The allotment of stalls will be made for 15 days at a rent of Rs.90 per day, said a statement by North Delhi Municipal Corporation.

The market will be at Aruna Asaf Ali Road parking lot near Delhi Gate and only men accompanying their families will be allowed in.

Women entrepreneurs who have registered with the textile ministry will be given preference in stall allotments.

BJP leader Sushma Swaraj will inaugurate the Mahila Haat.

The project was conceived in 2009 and around Rs.5 crore has been spent on it.
