Raipur, Sep 1, The Chhattisgarh Government is all set to introduce comprehensive legislation to deal with public grievances more effectively, official sources said today.

The drafting of the Public Service Guarantee Bill is in the final stage and most likely to be introduced during the Assembly’s ongoing Monsoon Session scheduled to conclude on September 10.

Chief Minister Raman Singh earlier directed the authorities to prepare the proposal for legislation by studying laws in other states and experiences gained from the annual Gram Suraaj campaigns in Chhattisgarh. The Bill aims at sensitising government servants towards citizens and improving accountability.

In order to provide final touches to the draft ahead of Monday’s Cabinet meeting, Chief Secretary P Joy Oommen will chair a meeting of top bureaucrats and department heads here tomorrow.
