Pune Police gets extension of the 90-day To File Chargesheet In Bhima-Koregaon Case

PUNE: The Pune Sessions Court has granted a 90-day extension to Pune Police to file chargesheet in a case registered against five accused Surendra Gadling, Shoma Sen, Mahesh Raut, Sudhir Dhawale and Rona Wilson in connection with the Bhima Koregaon violence which took place on January 1, this year. Pune police arrested five Dalit activists on June 6 in connection with the violence.

The court of special Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) judge KD Vadhane granted the extension sought by Pune Police, said Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Shivaji Pawar, the investigating officer in the case.

The defence lawyers sought time to file their say on the application, the court adjourned the matter till Sunday when the defence lawyers will file their say. After that, the court will pass an order.
