The functioning of senior Punjab superior judicial services officer Tejwinder Singh has come under the Punjab & Haryana HC scanner. It is 
believed that a preliminary inquiry has been ordered by the HC & proceedings in the matter are pending. Posted as District & Sessions Judge at Pathankot earlier, Tejwinder Singh had conducted trial in the Jan 2018 gangrape & murder case of an eight-year-old girl in Kathua.
He was transferred in December last year & is now presiding officer in the Industrial Tribunal, Jalandhar. Tejwinder Singh is high on the seniority list & his name falls in the zone of consideration for elevation as a HC Judge by the virtue of his seniority.
The Pathankot court on June 10 last year had convicted six of the seven accused in the rape & murder case. The matter is pending before the Punjab & Haryana HC Division Bench headed by Justice Rajiv Sharma.
