Three persons were sentenced to death by a local court today for killing three members of a family four and a half years ago.
Additional district judge of Barasat Daman Prasad Biswas had convicted prime accused Provash Dhali and Samir Mondal and Sujit Dhali on December 9.
One person who was arrested in connection with the case is absconding while another died during the hearing of the case.
The five had gunned middle-aged couple Benoy Biswas and Kakoli Biswas and their 32-year-old son Amrit at their house in Madhyamgram on April 10, 2012 over a dispute over money.
Dhali has a number of criminal cases against him at Gaighata, Thakurnagar and adjacent areas in North 24 Parganas and is being tried in 19 cases, including a gangrape. He has already served jail for seven years and had murdered the family within two months of being released.
