Ministry of Women and Child Development has been requesting the State Governments and the Union Territory Administration to set up State Commissions for Protection of Child rights in accordance with the Section 17 of the Commissions for Protection of Child Rights Act 1005. So far only Delhi, Maharashtra, Sikkim and Goa have constituted the State Commissions.
No time limit is prescribed in the Commissions for Protection of Child Rights Act for setting up of State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, However, States/UTs are being reminded to set up these Commissions at the earliest.
This information was given by the Minister of State in the Ministry of Women & Child Development, Smt. Krishna Tirath in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha today.

last year on 25-oct 2011 the applications were invited for the district level officer , inspector and clerical posts of district Child Rights protection unit , the state government has not communicate anything about its progress . i am one of the applicant of Kolhapur district Children’s rights protection officer’s post .
