All unmanned level crossings to be removed within one year

Railway Minister Piyush Goyal today informed the Rajya Sabha that the number of unmanned level crossings in the country has gone down significantly in the past three years, since the Modi government assumed charge.

Responding to a question in the upper house, Goyal said that government has put a greater focus on passenger security and by Ganesh Chaturthi next year all the unmanned crossings on heavily congested routes will be eliminated.
