J Sivanandaraaj (Kochhar & Co Chennai litigation head and senior equity-sharing partner) is going independent with his team of 15 lawyers.
As per him, all the major law firms like Amarchand, AZB [and other big firms] were sending their work to him but because of this arrangement with Kochhar & Co, they had stopped sending their work. So, he has decided to work once again with them.”
Sivanandaraaj asserted that Kochhar would continue referring matters of its Chennai clients to him.
On this matter Mr. Sivanandaraaj has sent an e mail to the managing partner of Kochhar & Co, Mr.Rohit Kochhar, but he has not received any response to an email seeking comment.
In November 2010, Sivanandaraaj had joined Kochhar’s Chennai office of 36 lawyers and six other partners to head up the litigation practice of the firm as an equity partner.
