A man has been sentenced to rigorous life imprisonment by a local court for killing his father following a quarrel in Balasore district a year ago.
Additional District Judge of Balasore Ashok Kumar Panda yesterday awarded the punishment to Maheswar Singh for killing his father Siba Singh at Talakahalia village on September 3, 2014.
According to the prosecution, as a fallout of the quarrel, Maheswar attacked his father with an axe causing his death.
The court pronounced its judgement on the basis of the statements of 11 witnesses and the dying declaration of the victim.
