A local court on Saturday extended the interim bail of state youth Congress president Vikramaditya Singh up to Monday (February 9) in a case pertaining to clash between the youth Congress and BJYM activists at the state BJP office on January 29, and asked him to join the police investigations. The court had granted interim bail to Vikramaditya up to February 4 which was extended till February 7, and was further extended till Monday on Saturday.

About a dozen activists of BJYM and Youth Congress were injured in the clash when the Youth Congress activists led by Vikrmaditya staged a demonstration at BJP office to protest against Land Acquisition Ordinance promulgated by the NDA government.

Vikramaditya said that he is cooperating with the police in the investigation and would continue to do so.

“Our activists were also injured in the clash and three of them suffered fractures and we have the photographs and videos of the clash which clearly show that activists of Youth Congress did not start the scuffle,” he added.

We had also informed the leader of the Opposition P K Dhumal about the peaceful protest which was being carried out at all the state headquarters a day in advance, he said.

Official sources said Vikramaditya recorded his statement yesterday before additional district magistrate (law and order) D K Rattan, who is conducting magisterial inquiry into the incident.
