The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLU Consortium) has declared that the results for the recently conducted Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2024 will be disclosed on December 10. This announcement followed the uploading of a revised provisional answer key on Monday evening, replacing the initial version that was taken down due to identified errors.

The Director of Law Prep Tutorial, Anupama Joshi, highlighted discrepancies in the earlier provisional answer key, where answers for Set A papers were mistakenly placed in the Set B section. Concerns arose regarding how students could raise objections, given the ₹1,000 fee per objection. In response, the NLU Consortium extended the objection submission deadline by 10 hours, allowing objections until 7 PM on December 5.

The final answer key is set to be released on December 9, a day ahead of the results. The Consortium clarified that the mismatch in the initial answer keys resulted from a typographical error, acknowledging the challenge students faced in previous years with a single Master Key. Once the discrepancy was identified, corrective measures were promptly taken, and the objection submission deadline was extended.

In a statement to Bar & Bench, the Consortium expressed regret for the initial discrepancy, emphasizing its commitment to maintaining accuracy and fairness in the CLAT process. CLAT 2024 witnessed a significant increase in registrations and applications, with over 1 lakh candidates applying for the undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) exams. The NLU Consortium noted a 34.7% rise in UG exam applications and a 25.8% increase in PG exam applications, reflecting the growing popularity of the examination.
