In a significant legal development, a Delhi court on Tuesday officially granted a divorce to the well-known singer and rapper, Honey Singh, and his wife. Principal Judge (Family Court) Paramjit Singh presided over the case and issued the divorce decree, thereby putting an end to a protracted legal battle that had spanned two and a half years.

The divorce proceedings were initiated by Singh’s wife, who had alleged domestic violence and shared her harrowing experiences of enduring mental, physical, emotional, sexual, and economic abuse at the hands of Honey Singh and his family. However, these allegations were eventually withdrawn following a settlement agreement between the parties involved. Notably, the details of this settlement were sealed, keeping them confidential.

As a part of the settlement reached in September of the previous year, Honey Singh also provided a demand draft of ₹1 crore to his wife. This financial component played a crucial role in resolving their marital dispute.

On the day of the court’s decision, before formally pronouncing the divorce order, Judge Paramjit Singh inquired whether Honey Singh still harbored any intentions of reconciling with his wife. In response, the singer unequivocally stated that there was no prospect of them reuniting or cohabiting any further.

In this legal matter, Honey Singh was represented by Ishaan Mukherjee, Partner at Metalaw Offices, along with advocates Amrita Chatterjee and Jaspal Singh. Advocate Vivek Singh, on the other hand, acted as legal counsel for Honey Singh’s wife.
