In a significant development, the Delhi Police has lodged a new supplementary chargesheet in the Shraddha Walkar murder case. This extensive document, spanning over 3,000 pages, comprises crucial digital and forensic evidence amassed during the investigation.

The chargesheet has been presented before Metropolitan Magistrate Aviral Shukla at the Saket court. Among the digital evidence included is the Google location and search history of the accused, Aaftab Poonawala.

According to the Delhi Police, the evidence from Poonawala’s Google location history corresponds to his movements to the sites where he purportedly disposed of Shraddha’s body parts.

Moreover, the digital evidence encompasses details regarding Shraddha’s phone, its locations, and the alleged disappearance of its location history following Poonawala’s interrogation.

This supplementary chargesheet comes a year after a Delhi court framed murder charges against Aftab Poonawala in the Shraddha Walkar case, also accusing him of evidence tampering.

The court had established a prima facie case for offences under IPC Sections 302 (murder) and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of an offence) against him. Poonawala has pleaded not guilty and opted for trial.

Shraddha Walkar, who was in a live-in relationship with the accused Poonawala, allegedly fell victim to strangulation by him on May 18, 2022. Subsequently, he dismembered her body, stored the parts in a refrigerator, and dispersed them across isolated locations in Delhi over several days to avoid detection by authorities and the public.
