Hooghly Mohsin College Law is located in Hooghly, West Bengal. It has been established a constituent part of University of Burdwan. This law college is approved by Bar Council of India (BCI), and recognized by the state government. Hooghly Mohsin College Law is dedicated to impart quality legal education and to produce highly skilled law professionals. The law college offers undergraduate law program, that is, BA.LLB, 5 year integrated program of law course.

Law Library is the pride of this college and attached to an institution engaged for dispensation of social justice through a profession known for legal acumen. It is a repository of living systems of authority as well as reason-systems which change and grow from day to day. And built to cater to the academic needs to the law students, faculty and legal practitioners.
It is on record that well-known Bengali Writer like, Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay (Writer), Akshoy Ch. Sarkar (Writer), Dwijendra Lal Ray (Poet & Dramatist), Muhammad Shahidullah (Linguist) were students of this Department. Many illustrious teachers have adorned this Department. They are Kalipada Sen (Ishan Scholar), Dr. Bhabatosh Datta, Prof. Baburam Prasad Banerji, Prof. Syamal Kumar Chatterji, to name a few. The Department has a consistently good academic record every year a couple of First Classes are secured in Honours.
Teachers of the department are actively engaged in research work in different areas of Bengali Language and Literature. At present, each Honours class comprises 30 students with a healthy student-teacher ratio 4.3:1. There is a close and intimate relationship between the teachers and the taught.
